Two chapels are available for you to use. The large Chapel was part of the original retreat house built in 1967. It is a large, light, airy space. Built in 2008 the Oratory is a unique, small circular chapel clad in cedar and copper. Guests can use both worship spaces as a place of quiet prayer whenever available. Groups can book the worship spaces both for worship and for meetings.

We welcome any Christian groups of any Christian tradition to worship in our chapels. We have welcomed groups recently from the following traditions: Anglican, Pentecostal, Roman Catholic, Baptist, Russian Orthodox, Methodist and the United Reformed Church. Both spaces can be arranged for traditional or more informal worship.

The Chapel

The main Chapel is a light, double height worship space. It has been designed to be flexible for your group; all furniture, including the altar, font and lectern can be moved around to suit your needs. It can seat up to 82 people, though more usually it has 26 comfortable upholstered chairs. The Chapel is on the ground floor and is fully wheelchair accessible.

We have all the usual elements you would expect for traditional worship, from vestments to communion sets. There are an array of additional items including prayer stools, prayer cushions, CDs and a CD player, a Clavinova electric piano, and a selection of service and hymn books.

The Oratory

The Oratory Chapel is an intimate, circular worship space and is ideal for small groups. The Oratory is sited upstairs in our circular tower. Clad in cedar and copper, it makes for a unique and welcoming space. A small roof terrace garden is beside the Oratory, offering another space for quiet prayer. There are 15 chairs around the edge of the Oratory, with bean bags to enable a more informal style of worship if wished. The Oratory is fully wheelchair accessible via our lift.
