If you are looking for your own private space, a budget retreat or a family stay, our self-catering property Redwood House may be your perfect solution. Our retreat house offers the flexibility and convenience of your own private space for your small group. It can also be hired as a conventional holiday let cottage and has all the equipment you might need for a comfortable family stay.

Redwood House is a detached house in the grounds of St Columba’s House. It has three en-suite bedrooms which can be arranged as double or twins and one further ground floor twin bedroom with adjacent bathroom.

The downstairs living space consists of two rooms, one a lounge, Lindisfarne, and one a conservatory dining room, Iona. Both are available for hire as meeting rooms or as part of the self-catered hire of the whole house.

There is a fully equipped fitted kitchen with a patio space just by the back door. Guests are welcome to wander our gardens* and come into St Columba’s House during opening hours.

*Please note: our gardens open out onto a busy road and we have a small wildlife pond with deep water. Therefore children should never be left unsupervised in our gardens.

Prices are fixed throughout the year making us a very competitive venue both during and out of peak season. This makes Redwood House a great solution whether you need a little more space for family at Christmas, a retreat for a small youth group, a personal retreat or a great venue to suggest to delegates who are travelling from further afield for your conference.

We understand affordability is important to our customers. Redwood House can be booked for exclusive use for only £242.00 a night; meaning for a group of 8 people, you and your guests can enjoy the comfort and privacy of the whole house for around £30 per person. Additionally, if you book Redwood House for seven nights we give you your last night free, making your stay even more affordable.

Downstairs, the meeting rooms allow plenty of space for relaxing, for team work or break outs. Iona can be arranged in a variety of layouts to meet the needs of your group and both rooms can be supplied with conference equipment such as flipcharts and projectors if needed. View our meeting space page for more details on room setup and facilities.
