To Hear and Be Heard – Tracey Wade

A deaf awareness workshop, for anyone who is experiencing hearing loss and anyone who wants to make their parish or youth group more inclusive by improving their communication with people experiencing hearing loss. This workshop will explore facts about hearing loss and will include introductions to several communication tools, such as lipreading and British Sign Language.

This is also an opportunity to discuss, learn about and experience lipreading and British Sign Language. The session will close with learning to sign a worship song & prayer.

Tracey Wade
Currently a Sensory Specialist Worker within Sensory Services, Tracey previously worked as the Sensory Inclusion Adviser for Guildford Diocese. Qualified BSL level 3 communicator, lipreading tutor and a rehabilitation officer for the visually impaired, Tracey has over 30 years’ experience of communicating with people who have a hearing loss.
