Clare employs her imagination to make these surprising and innovative images. Clare draws free hand, sometimes working directly onto the canvas. The drawings provoke different levels of meaning as they communicate; pictures are read and ultimately interpreted by their audience. The images can be seen as simple, some childlike, sometimes evoking a powerful response.
Clare studied at Farnham UCA and was the ninth artist in residence at the Watts gallery. Techniques such as appliqué and collage can be recognised on the canvases. They can take on a 3D effect, whilst others form surfaces that lie flat.
This exhibition is open to all.
Clare is also holding an art workshop at St Columba’s House on Saturday 27th April. All are welcome
