The Fullness of Life: How our dying affects our living 1 November

‘Contemplate death if you would learn how to live’ was a belief that was central to the stoic philosophy. Taking these words to heart this retreat considers some of the widespread attitudes to death and dying across cultures and offers an insight into some of the unconscious processes that inhibit us from living life to the full in the here and now. Rhythm and Ritual 3 November

The Celts were renowned for weaving spirituality into every aspect of life. Taking a leaf from their book, the day considers how we might do justice to occasions of transition in our lives, whether they be ‘religious’ or otherwise. How do we mark meaningful moments and note their passing? This workshop offers you the opportunity to consider what might go into creating rituals and liturgies that stir the spirit and mark the spot. No need to have experience of creative writing – all that is needed is enthusiasm and a desire to have a go.
